Lions Club Eyeglasses
Eyeglasses, prescription sunglasses, and regular sunglasses are collected to be recycled for further use, rathar than being discarded. These glasses are sent to a refurbishing center in Indiana where they are cleaned, sanitized, and repaired as needed.
The prescriptions of the glasses are measured and recorded. They are then forwarded to Lions Club International, to be distributed to Lions Eye Clinics in third-world countries around the world. These clinics provide free eye-care to people in need.
This collection occurs during December and coincides with the December 13th Feast of St. Lucy, the patroness of vision.
